Wolf Mountain - BMC Youth Climbing Series Finals 2011

Wolf Mountain is honoured to be holding the 2011 BMC Youth Climbing Series Finals and we want to celebrate the fact that we have been given the opportunity to hold the finals in the Midlands by putting on a climbing festival.

The first Midlands Climbing Festival has been put together by a group of like minded climbers and parents of climbers not just from Wolf Mountain but other climbing centres in the Midlands.

We hope you choose to stay in Wolverhampton and to assist you we have put some information on this website that may be of help. Wolf Mountain sits in a green belt area and has plenty of space which has allowed us to create a camping site for the weekend. All teams, competitors, families and supporters are very welcome to camp. We have full catering, shower and toilet facilities on site. We understand that competitors may not wish to camp on the Friday night but we intend to make sure it is a quiet night. However you are welcome to camp on the Saturday night and enjoy the entertainment and atmosphere.

We hope to introduce some ideas that should allow the competition day to finish reasonably early so everyone can relax in the evening at the centre. Yes there will be prizes for all the placed competitors but we will also have a large number of spot prizes. The idea is that all the people who stay to watch the prize giving will be in with a chance to win a great spot prize!

We realise that comp days can be long and sometimes tedious for some spectators such as siblings and we hope therefore visitors will enjoy some of the activities we will have available on the day. Click here to Check out the web page for more information.

Midlands Youth Team at the Roaches

We took the Midlands Youth Team for a days climbing at the Roaches. It was a beautiful Sunny day , if not a bit to windy. It was a good turn out and we all started with some bouldering on the lower tier. Dom On sighted 3 pocket Slab and then after few more goes a few more got up this.
Then they all had fun playing on the bottom of Ascent of Man and George made it up first

Then we made our way up to the Upper Tier for some more bouldering. Zack and Duncan made some fine efforts on Nadin's Traverse. George made a spectacular belly flop top out.
After they all watch James Wilkins lead The Sloth (HVS 5b) and then Zack Decided he would second it. He did this with ease, but that meant they all wanted ago. In the the end Duncan , Mat Dom and Emily tope rope this. Great effort by all and a great day out. If only every day was a climbing day.
