Back From Sunny Mallorca

Some of the Wolf Mountain Regulars have just got back from a Climbing trip in Sunny Mallorca, Organised by Nick Dixon of Towers Outdoor Pursuits Center. Myself and Deb, Andy and Allison, John and Lucy(5 Month Pregnant and still climbing) Mat and Nicky, John and Sarah, Celia, Richard, were amongst the group, also with a great bunch of other people. It was nice to be in 30 Deg Heat in February for a change (for us) doing some sport climbing. It was a good week if not a event full, John Managed to fall off land on his back and crack two ribs and spend half the week in Hospital but is is home and safe now and all was well. As the climbing went I think most people managed to achieve there goals.

check out the Photo's Here

The Highlights were

Deb onsight Dingo(7c+) at Cala Magraner with some beta as well as redpointing Cave wall Left (7a+). She also did all the move on Evola(8a) at Tijuana on the hottest day , with the smallest holds you can imagine. Then on the last day with more hot weather and stinking cold top roped a Un tio conflictiu (7a) back at Cala Magraner to warm up and then almost top roped Wall and Bulge (7c)to the left have of it after quickly working the moves.

Allison after last year not leading too much , started the week leading confidently and then after some fall practice managed on the Last Day to redpoint Sa nyoscla (6a) at Cala Magraner. She also had a Sterling effort on Short Crack (7a) at Valldemossa she managed to do all the moves on a top rope.

Andy the Bull had a shaky start to the week with some bad foot ware but with a change of boots he found some super new lines that were not in the guide a Tijuana. A great 6a crack line and then and overhang 7a ish which even had the two Nick's fighting to the top. Great effort , nice dyno. See the Video. Also he then finished the week off with a redpoint of Cave Right (6c+) at Cala Magraner.

I managed to also onsight lead Dingo(7c+) at Cala Magraner after watching the other nick on it just failing on the last move. So after a rest I managed to repoint this. Then at Valldemossa we found another route not in the guide which I managed to redpoint after a couple of top ropes. Debs Managed to do all the moves on and top rope as did the other Nick , but we all disagreed with the grade, made be 7b? Then we had some crazy fun on the roof, Waikiki(7b).We then found a super steep cave at Las Perxes at Sector Cueva. I managed to redpoint Hoodoo gurus(7b+) in between interuption from the two Donkeys? Then managed to do all the moves on Txapuz board (7c) just to the right of it. On the Last day we went a back to the cave a Cala Magraner as I wanted to work the route TNT (8a) again another steep route. I managed to do all the moves in a couple of goes but then we had to go home.

Others did well as also , Little Elin wanted to lead 6a and on the last day also managed to redpoint Sa nyoscla (6a) at Cala Magraner. Chris managed to redpoint a couple a 7a's and a 7a+. Also do not forget the guys who went multi pitching and I am sure the walkers had there own mini adventures too.

Thanks to Nick Dixon for organising the trip.
